This pattern was inspired by Virginia Lacey Jones, American Librarian. It’s part of my 2022 project, “Above and Beyond - A Celebration of Women in History through Print and Pattern”.

I created the bag design, designed the front panel fabric, screen printed the fabric panel and then sewed it all together in Portland, Oregon.
Because this item is handmade, the print/pattern may vary.
Care instructions: Spot clean only. Waxed canvas may feel slightly tacky at first, but the wax will wear into the fabric, which creates a rugged appearance; perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest.

Beautiful bag. The print feels comforting and old-fashioned like the coziest parts of my childhood. I love the waxed canvas and everything about the bag, including how it was wrapped and packaged, indicate quality and an aesthetic flair. Plus I asked for a bit of customization and Heidi was awesome to work with.
